A Contemporary Approach to Occlusion on Dental Implants

When occlusal problems exist on implant-retained restorations, it is common to experience various complications. In this program, the occlusal concepts that should be followed when restoring dental implants will be reviewed. The program will present on single-unit, multi-unit, and full-arch prostheses. Biomechanics and the improvement of load distribution will also be discussed. The presentation will also present on maintenance and complications associated with occlusion.Speaker Bio: Dr. Michaud is an Associate Professor of Prosthodontics and head of the Division of Prosthodontics at the Dalhousie University Faculty of Dentistry. He received his dental degree in 2007 and completed a residency in Prosthodontics at Université de Montréal in 2011. Dr. Michaud maintains a private practice in the Dalhousie intramural Faculty Practice, where he covers all aspects of prosthodontics. He is also a fellow and examiner of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada in Prosthodontics and he serves as a member of the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry’s Editorial Review Board.
